Our 73rd Independence Day - My thoughts

As our great nation celebrates its 73rd Independence Day , we have many reasons to pump our chests with pride, as our great nation has shown tremendous progress and resilience since coming out from the British captivity in 1947.

Some of the achievements are being cited below:

  • ·      We are the largest functional democracy in the world. Irrespective of political differences, the world witnesses amazing , magnanimous and peaceful transition of power after every general election.
  • ·      We are sixth biggest economy in the world and are on way to become 3rd biggest in a decade or so.
  • ·      We are IT super power. Our IT skills are well-respected in the world. The top executives of many companies across the globe are Indians.
  • ·      We are a nuclear power with a doctrine of no first use, means our weapons are only for deterrence.
  • ·      We are one of the select few countries capable of manufacturing nuclear submarines, fighter planes, aircraft carrier etc
  • ·      Our Space programs are exemplary. Our reach now extends to Moon, Mars and beyond.
  • ·      Our missiles contingent now includes ICBMs and A-SATs.
  • ·      Many of our corporations are truly world class with brand value like any global corporation.
  • ·      We are able to see eye to eye in dealing with world powers like America and China. The episodes of Docklam with China and Balakot with Pakistan, fill our hearts with pride.
  • ·      Many of our public sectors have been instrumental in laying the foundation for industrial revolution.
  • ·      We are self-sufficient for the most part in terms of food/agriculture.
  • ·      Many of our educational institutions like IIT’s, IIM’s, NITs, are second to none
  • ·      We have been able to execute extremely complex infrastructure projects such as Konkan/Jammu-Srinagar railroad, Metro, National highways, bridges for north east connectivity etc
  • ·      Our armed forces, in spite being one of the strongest in the world have consistently behaved in an extremely responsible manner.
  • ·      We have been able to remove 73 years old Article 370 from J&K so as to bring J&K at par with other states of our motherland, enabling people from J&K to realize their full potential.
  • ·      The long list goes on …….

But at the same time, the long British rule has left a huge negative mark on our national values, national morale and national ethos, and we as society have not yet fully recovered from it. Many of us do not want to recover from it due to selfish reasons. Hence, a lot of work needs to be done before we can call ourselves truly free. I’d like to cite a few of the areas.

We will be free when our attraction to the colour of the skin will vanish in thin air and when we are able to realize that true colour of an individual is the colour of his/her character and how the individual is contributing for the betterment of the larger society. Our society seems to be judgmental on skin colour. I will ask a question to prove my point. Would our countrymen tolerate Madam Maino (Gandhi) the same way, if she had been from Nigeria, Chad or Ethiopia and not from Italy? I am absolutely sure that answer from a large chunk of people would be “Hello no”.

We will be free when our society is able to show empathy towards millions of the poor people and look after them, what Swami Vivekananda referred them as “दरिद्र नारायण”. Whether we like it or not, agree or not, we have a huge problem at hand. We as nation constitute a mere 2% of the world land and have to house approximately 20% of the world population, thus creating unbridgeable imbalance between demand and supply of resources. A sizable percentage of our nationals are forced to go to bed hungry.

We will be free when many leaders our nation will stop following the policy of appeasement and vote bank and they will be able to see writing on the walls that years of following these policies has done serious and irreparable damage to our great nation.

We will be free when all our countrymen, no matter which religion they come from, no matter which region they come from and no matter which language they speak , will starting lining up under the common religion of “भारतीय” to chant “सुजलाम , सुफलाम, मलयज शीतलामसस्य श्यामलाम मातरमवन्दे मातरम” with tears of joy in their eyes and choke of emotions in voice.

We will be free when each of us in our society is truly able to demonstrate the principle of inclusivity “वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम” and keep a mindset that we are one large family. Only this principle can keep us united. We are an amalgamation of hundreds of cultures, each with their own language, traditions, customs, values and rituals.

We will be free when many of the so called intellectuals will not have to bash the religion of the majority of the people in our country to be called intellectuals. Over the last decade or so, it has become a fashionable thing to attack the religion and Gods of the majority of the country to prove themselves as intellectuals. This destructive “टुकड़े टुकड़े” gang needs to be shown its place and this manipulative “intolerance” gang needs to be dismantled.

We will be free when our national leaders will speak in a single voice on matters of national security to meet the aggression from China from North, Pakistan from west, Lanka from south and Bangladesh from east, on the lines of former prime minister and nationalist Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri, that “Force will be met with force”. Our leaders need to realize that dialogue and Force, both have well defined role in intra-country dealings. Recently the great work done across the borders by our armed forces has been undermined by many leaders and their respective  political parties, putting national security at huge risk.

We will be free when our society will see the equality between sons and daughters and put a complete end to feticide, and realize that men’s need for women and vice versa goes much beyond biological need. The men and women together are complimentary to each other and one is not complete without other.

We will be free when our society will move away from “चलता है” attitude which has put us backward by decades if not more and has been one of the biggest reason for prevalent mediocrity everywhere.

We will be free when our society in a united way will face today’s challenges and find solutions for better tomorrow.  As Baba Ramdev says “लोग अपने दुख से दुखी नहीं हैं , वे दूसरोंके सुख से दुखी हैं”. Our society needs to show compassion to each other, whether it is on road, parking lot, ticket queue or for that matter, any other public place.

We will be free when we are able to eradicate the chickenpox of corruption, which is just not limited to government sector but has spread its wings in the private sector as well, from our society completely and that we will be able to take a pledge that we are not going to bribe no matter how much delay occurs in getting the job done.

This wish list is long but very much achievable. A small price to pay true unabashed freedom.

Jai Ho Narendra Bhai Modi ji

The Mahabharat style General Elections of 2014 are thing of past. The one person who comes out of thisMahabharat Election as sole winner is Mr. Narendra Modi. The Samskrit Phrase “स्वयमेव म्रगेन्द्रिता” (Natural King of the Forest) holds absolutely true to him and his personality.

Mr. Modi has run his herculean election campaign in such an effective and powerful manner and taken such a high road that nothing could distract him from his goal. He has completely changed the game and rules of the game, for the opponents and left them किंकर्तव्य बिमूढ़ (scrambling and clueless for next steps). He has led from the front and travelled enormous distance across our great Nation, a distance dwarfing the distance of Moon from Earth and has connected extremely well with the nationals of the entire Nation and has created his appeal in entire Nation. To describe him, I have translated an old and famous Urdu Sher in Hindi to make it easier-

स्वयं को कर सबल इतना कि हर सौभाग्य से पहले , प्रभु मानव से यह पूछे बता तेरी सलाह क्या है

He has also changed his messaging and techniques as the elections have progressed from phase 1 to phase2, leading to final phase 9, saving his best for the last. He drew flake from media and all for not giving any interviews early on, so much so that media started saying that he could give only speech and not interview and that he was an unknown personality. But then, in the end, he hadgiven a number of interviews showcasing various aspects of his personality, his thought process, and his plan/approach to handle development/challenges. That I believe has worked really well for him and BJP. We all know the value of “save the best for last” but Modi ji has demonstrated a practical example of the same.

There is no abuse left in the Hindi dictionary which is not used against Mr. Modi from many leaders of many opponent parties, starting from Abdulla&Abdullah , Khurshid, Azamkhan, Benny, Sonia, Rahul , Ajit, and Mulayam from north, Sharad Pawar and Sanjay Nirupam from west, Siddaramaiya from south, and, Lalu, Mamata  and Derek O’Brian from east. It is an irony that most of these folks who have used such un-parliamentary language are all parliamentarians, at-least supposed to be. I would like to recall a doha from Sant Kabir’s poetry to describe them-

बुरा जो देखन मैं चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय |
जो दिल खोजो आपनो, मुझसे बुरा न कोय ||

The Congress party, which has ruled the country for major period of the independent India, is now facing its imminent dissipation, probably for good. How can a political party live under the umbrella of one family forever. During past 10 years, the mother/son due have led the country in current state due to their back seat driving and not letting its Prime Minister do anything freely. One (or rather Two)  can make everybody fool sometime, can make some people fool all the time, but this duo has tried to make fool of everybody all the time. Today if one takes Sonia Madam, Rahul Baba and Priyanka Vadra out of Congress, is there a one person (and one means one) who can lead Congress? If such is the state of the Congress party, the thingwhich has happened for Congress was bound to happen anyway. Such is the ship of Congress that the good people and Technocrat like Mr Nilekani have also sunk with it. I find it difficult to digest how and why a successful, renowned and learned (and of course RICH) person like Mr Nilekani had fallen in the trap of Congress. I recall a saying by Sant Abdurrahim Khankhana ( Rahim) on side affects of bad company.

बसि कुसंग चाहत कुशल, रहिमन यह अफसोस ।
महिमा घटी समुद्र की , रावण बस्यो परोस ||

The AAP which has delivered huge promise in Delhi Election of 2013 has gone all over the place and had stretched themselves too thin. Had they hold on to Delhi government , delivered on some of the key promises and contested only 20-30Lok Sabha seats, they would have won 15-20 seats. The entire blame goes to its leader Arvind Kejriwal. He had converted AAP like Congress with he himself assuming the role of Sonia Gandhi and Manish Sisodia assuming the role of No. 2 Rahul Gandhi. How could a party aspiring to become successful in democracy without having internal democracy? This is a huge and probably irreparable setback for AAP and who knows may be for good.

The whole country has understood and realized how meaningless and irrelevant the two words, Communal and Secular, used by the majority of the political class, have become. The nation is shouting from the rooftop “ये क्या सेक्यूलर वेक्यूलर लगा रखा है” and “ये क्या कम्यूनल फम्यूनल लगा रखा है”. The nation is internalizing the phrases “एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत” and “सबका साथ सबका विकास” now.

On a different note, I hope that wisdom will prevail for many nations who had put a Visa ban on Mr. Modi and will move forward fast to unilaterally remove it. Mr. Modinow represents a nation of 1.3 billion people and is elected through a democratic process, which is probably larger than all other TRUE democracies of the world combined together.  How can some nation(s) be so selective in taking punitive actions against one individual whose crimes are not proven by the nation’s top court even after 12 years of rigorous judicial process? No one should be held guilty till proven by the court of the law. Why the same nation(s) have not taken action against many other individuals of many other nation(s) whose crimes against the minorities of their respective nation(s) are written on the walls? Also, the human right record of the many nation(s) who had put visa ban is also not impeccable. I recall a dialog of an old Hindi Movie by Raj Kumar against Rehman “साहनी सेठ, जिनके घर शीशे से बने होते हैं वो दूसरों पर पत्थर नहीं फेंकते”.

I wish Mr Narendra Bhai Modi Ji all the very best to take our deserving motherland in the forefront of the nations.  I hope he executes his development agenda and does so well that our countrymen become bound to say “अबकी बार मोदी सरकार” to “बार बार मोदी सरकार“.

Modi – The Corporate Style Leader

I have been and I am a big fan of Mr. Narendra Modi ever since his rise on the Indian horizon. Just a fortnight back, he has taken oath of Gujarat Chief Minister for the fourth time in a row, not a small feat to achieve by anyone anywhere. The development of Gujarat during his tenure has been phenomenal. He has transformed his state to so business friendly that most corporate honchos of India and even abroad drool to setup their plants/ units in Gujarat.

Recently, he was invited by Delhi based Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) to deliver a lecture to the college youth.  The invitation to Mr. Modi was not decided by the college authorities by choice, but rather through a ballot process where students had to pick one name out of 5 possible names. One name was of Mr. Modi and the 4 names were of others including Congress Yuvraj Mr. Rahul Gandhi. Because Mr. Modi received maximum votes, he was invited as the speaker by the college authorities. Mr. Modi being chosen above Yuvraj Rahul Gandhi is also noteworthy considering that both State and Central Governments in Delhi are of Congress.

His talk of ~60 minutes was completely mesmerizing. When I started playing it on YouTube, my plan was to just watch the glimpses by skipping the portions of the video, but I could not do that. The speech both in terms of contents and style was so intense, lively, connecting, interesting and captivating that I watched the video in its entirety.  I am describing some of his musings with connection to corporate style.

Unique and Out of Box thinking
He held a glass of water in his hand which was half full and explained as to how two categories of people perceive that differently. He said the people with optimistic thought process perceive the glass half full and the people with pessimistic thought process perceive glass half empty. Modi Ji propagated his own and third creative interpretation saying that neither the glass as half full, nor the glass as half empty. Instead it was completely full, half with water and half with air.

In corporations, the great leaders perceive and visualize things in non traditional manner, an out of box thinking.

Business Diversification
Modi Ji, mentioned that his growth model of Gujarat was not based on just a single sector. Rather, it was based on three growth sectors;  Agriculture sector, Industrial sector and Service sector. This 3 pronged model was implemented to ensure that weakness in any sector is compensated by the strength of the other sectors. This is a classic example of business diversification.

Most top successful companies follow the same diversification mode. The American conglomerates GE and Fidelity Investments and Indian conglomerate Reliance, Airtel, ITC are some great examples of diversified corporations.

Branding
He took an example that a label “Made in Japan” inherently means quality. The quality centric perception that Japan has created around the world has not come out by accident. Rather, it is years of hard work by the Japanese people.  Similarly he cited the example of South Korea as to how that country used the Seoul Olympic of 1988 to create its mark on the world stage. Today, South Korea has a well established brand. He also reminded the audience as to how we squandered the opportunity we had in the form of CWG for creating an India brand. What happened as a result of CWG is well known to all of us, a disaster. He called upon the youth to create a “Brand India”.

Most successful corporations’ modern success is attributed to the brand they have created over the years through sheer hard work. The “Intel Inside” by Intel or “We sell for less” by Walmart and Indian brand “Tata” are some examples.

Business Expansion
He took an example as to how his administration is working on tapping new development areas of economy. He has constituted a team to go over all the things that a human being needs in life and come up with a comprehensive list. The team came up with close to 1,000 things that a human needs. Based on this list, his team is working on creating new focus areas for skill development which will be used to open new frontiers of the economic development.

Most successful businesses keep looking for new growth areas. Apple did not stop at iPod which was probably its first mass product. It went on to create a market for iPad, which did not exist to begin with.

Pride in work
Modi Ji cited  an example of his meeting with Taiwanese leaders during his visit ,  where he was asked if India is still a country of snake charmers. His response , kind of unique and was well thought out, said that India has moved on from a country of “snake charmers” to country of “mouse charmers”, an obvious reference to India’s growing prowess in the IT sector.

He took another example of then President Mr. Bill Clinton visiting one of the villages in Rajasthan where many of the women, while covering their faces with the veil, were using computers for their small businesses. A young man in a very assertive manner approached Mr. Clinton to ask/say something. Many of the village leaders who were present there, managing Clinton’s visit got worried that the young man might ask for either visa, or job or even money. But what the young man asked was totally unexpected. The young man firmly looked into Clinton’s eyes and asked if Clinton still thinks if India was a backward country. Clinton was forced to say, “No, it is not”.

Most successful corporations create a sense of pride in their employees. It is not just the money that attracts the skill. It’s the larger purpose of the organization and how the corporation is able to make connections with its employees to create a sense of pride which glues its employees together to achieve larger goals.

Empowerment
Modi Ji cited an example of a person who showed up once to meet him, who did not impress Modi Ji at all in his brief meeting, but later went on to set up his business in record 18 months time, which today supplies coaches to Delhi Metro. This was due to the empowerment Modi Ji  has done at the district level , Tehsil level and even block level.

The successful companies empower their employees in taking risks. It’s the risk taking ability of the individuals fostered by the corporations’  top management’s commitment to risk taking , that results into innovations which drive future value creation and growth.

Value Creation
Modi took an example of cotton production in Gujarat which stood at 23 Lakh bells in 2001, and which now stands at 1 crore 23 lakh bells. This is more than 5 fold increase and is something to be proud about. In some ways, it is tremendous value creation through productivity increase.  But Modi Ji’s version of value creation is his ambitious 5 F’s plan where cotton produced in Farm will be converted to Fiber which in turn will be converted to Fabric which in turn will be converted to Fashionable clothes which finally will be exported to Foreign markets.

This is an example of value creation that successful corporations follow. Many companies in our IT sector which were initially exporting human skills (body shopping) have moved on to create products.
On a different note, we export our iron ores to China, why? I think this should stop now. We should rather export more finished products made out of iron.

Packaging
Modi Ji told how the market of Indian Medicine did not pickup till the packaging was made attractive. A commission named “Hathi Commission” was setup by Pt Jawarhar Nehru more than half century back, recommended better packaging for Indian medicines.  Modi Ji demanded the packaging needs to be right along with good product quality. He mentioned how the tourism industry of Gujarat has grown tremendously by focused campaign by making great Mr. Amitabh Bachchan as the Brand Ambassador of Gujarat.

Most corporations strive to create attractive packaging after studying the consumer psyche to increase the selling chances for their products.

Socially Responsible
All over our country, the water level in earth is going down at an alarming level. Gujarat was no exception due to its climatic conditions. Modi mentioned in his speech that he has constructed over 50,000 small water bodies all over the state to store water. That has resulted into the ground water level in Gujarat to come up in last 10 years as against most part of our country where water level has gone down drastically.

These days, many corporations are adopting social responsibility and striving hard to balance growth , environment and society.

Goal oriented Offsite
Modi Ji mentioned as to how his team of advisors meet under the umbrella of 2 months event called “Krishi Mahotsava”, during the month of May and June when the temperature outside is scorching 44 degree celcius. The team focuses on finding new and innovative ways of agriculture development. He mentioned that Gujarat maintains the health card for the soil and that soil health card is used for picking the correct fertilizers and plantations.

Most successful corporations conduct goal oriented off sites to brainstorm and generate the strategy for the future action plan.

Global Reach
Modi Ji cited examples of presence of products made in Gujarat in foreign countries. He has examples of export of Okra ( Bhindi) to Europe, Milk to Singapore, Tomato to Afghanistan and many other parts of the world. He also mentioned that the global summit of Gujarat was attended by the leaders of 121 countries representing more than 50% of the world GDP.

Most corporations today have global thinking in their long term plans.

Eloquence
Like any other corporate leader, he threw many keywords. Some are given below. These keywords serve a great purpose in effective communication and help in keeping its impact long lasting.

In one of my company’s offsite, a speaker from GE cited the phrase EEE ( Energy, Edge and Execution) which I still remember, even 3 years later and I can vividly  connect to what he meant by each E.

Some of Modi Ji’s citations are below.

P2G2  - Pro People Good Governance  ( On Su-Raj means good governance which is pro people)
5 F’s – Farm to Fiber to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign
3 S’s – Skill, Scale and Speed ( three things needed to move forward )
Google Guru  - Our one stop place for finding anything we need

My Conclusion
India in last few years has gone thru either non governance or extremely turbulent governance. The current government of UPA-II is more dud and non-functional then its previous version UPA-I. Our Prime Minister  Mr. Man Mohan Singh has transformed himself into Mr. Mauni Mohan Singh. Both current home Minister Shinde and previous home minister Chidambaram keep attacking the identity and ethos of a large section of people. I am not sure whose interest they represent.  Our country is big country with 1.2 billion people having 65% population below 35 years of age. The country needs a leader who can lead such a large nation to put India back in the forefront of nations of the world, a leader who can channelize the energy of youth for productive and constructive use. That leader can be no one except Mr. Modi. India strongly and desperately needs Mr. Modi as its Prime Minister.

Attributes of a Leader

Last week, I attended one ELT ( Extended Leadership Team ) meeting of my company in Hotel Movenpick, Bangalore near BEL circle.  The theme of the meet was "Leadership". Some of my colleagues asked me ( strongly) to recite a poem. I used the theme of the day and penned down a few lines in the form of a poem, on attributes of a Leader.

Here is my impromptu poem that I wrote and recited there.

I feel extremely privileged to witness the history being made and rewritten. It does not happen frequently when the entire parliament comes together to pass a resolution for larger goods of the nation, even if done when pushed to the wall by the public. Several key politicians have spoken in parliament during last few days.
The by-default future Prime Minister of our country Rahul Gandhi during his speech in Lok Sabha appeared largely arrogant, brash, defiant and totally unaware of people’s sentiments and expectations. How could he boast about his idea as a “game changer”?, just because it came from him? Let others say that and no one has said that yet. On the contrary his cousin Varun Gandhi showed tremendous grace and immense maturity during his speech/ deliberations. He, several times had put the people of India above everything else. He has showed as to how far he has come from two years back when his controversial remarks landed him and his political career in trouble. The unanimous clapping after his speech showed that it is all about growing in life and also about moving on. I think the speech of Sharad Yadav was very good, though at times, it looked a bit sarcastic. Even “Manuni” Mohan Singh broke his “maun”, though he sat stone faced and his words did not have anything inspiring.
Yesterday’s lower house and upper house sessions were culmination of true collaboration between representatives of public and public itself. The yesterday’s resolution would go a long way in restoration of people’s faith in parliamentary and political processes. The leaders of major political parties have displayed exemplary leadership skills in resolution of the impasse. I will cite a quote from Nelson Mandela “Quitting is also leadership” on situational leadership. Our parliamentarians have done just that. They have quit from their position of rigidity, they have quit from their position of protecting their turf.  As the yesterday’s collective debate in the parliament reached its culmination point, I could hear background chants following Vedic shloka in the air.
ॐ सहना भवतुः सहनौ भुनत्तुः सहवीर्यम करवावहे ।
तेजस्वनावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषामहे ।।
ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शन्तिः
During last few days, several other people, prominent in their own fields have expressed their opinions about Anna agitation.  I will cite a few, who I think have made mockery of themselves by opening their mouths.
Arundhati Roy: This lady only sees rights and sympathy for the criminals and terrorists so it does not make any sense for anyone to analyze her comments. There are always going to be some nuts in the system and we have to learn to live with that and we should leave it that way. She is another Rakhi Sawant and will do anything to remain in the limelight.
Nandan Nilekani: He is a person known for his integrity and intellect. I fail to understand what his compulsion to say whatever he said was. How could a person running a program called UID for larger public could question another movement involving people for the same larger public. He appeared a diehard congress party worker.
Imam Bukhari: This bigot has crossed all the limits. His statement that supporting Anna is un-islamic because the people participating are chanting the “वन्दे मातरम्” and “भारत माता की जय”, is highly deplorable. My response/suggestion to him is that then go to Pakistan/Bangladesh where you belong to and live/settle there. What is wrong in Vande mataram and how can it become anti-religious for any religion? All it says that “I salute my motherland”. But it is not his fault; it is due to his upbringing, like father like son. Even some renowned people like Javed Akhtar from bollywoord, have very myopic views and see discrimination in everything and try to bring an untrue color during their comments even in regular TV programs. “Bukhar” in Urdu means fever and this guy bukhari has proved that he is suffering from some sort of mental and emotional fever.
Which country can be more inclusive than India, a country of 1.2 billion people with 80% Hindus (officially)? But look the power setup with president a Hindu woman, vice president a muslim, loksabha speaker a dalit hindu woman, prime minister a Sikh, leader of ruling party a foreign born (and current foreign passport holder) catholic Christian, leader of opposition a woman, defence minister a Christian, law minister a muslim. These are some undeniable raw facts that put the inclusiveness of our great nation above every other nation. No other country on earth had / has / will have and can have such inclusivity.
During last 2 weeks or so, there have been leanings for everyone, the civil society has learnt as how to deal with the government, the government has learnt that people’s movement can not be suppressed and had to be looked into, and the people have learnt as to what and how much they can achieve through united efforts. Anna has more learning to do. He has to assess his team and get rid of people who have ulterior motives. One such person is Swami Agnivesh (see 1m15s video).  He is no Swami but a bigot , congress agent and untrustworthy. The team Anna should completely dissociate from him and his actions. Anna has to also ensure that good people continue to support him. Mr Hegde is one such person. The other trait Anna needs to build is to show some flexibility.
Anna, an ordinary Indian, who has worked in Indian army as a driver, who does not have any formal degree, has galvanized the nation of 1.2 billion people, has created a sense of urgency in the minds of Indians that corruption pox has to be eradicated. Anna has solidified the position of India on the world map as a truly functional democracy. It is completely unbelievable that such a large people’s movement, spread across every nook and corner of our motherland, has not resulted into loss of even one rupee worth of property, forget loss of any life.
I want to cite an example from Kishkinda kand of Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas. The entire monkey army is sitting on sea shore contemplating who can go across the ocean to Lanka to find out whereabouts of Sita. When all the warriors of the monkey army expressed their inability to cross the ocean, Jamvant approached Hanuman to remind him about his inbuilt and inherent powers.
कहहु रीछ्पति सुनु हनुमाना । का चुपु साधि रहे बलवाना ।।
We all know that Hanuman ji flew to Lanka and succeeded not only in finding out whereabouts of Sitaji but also in assessing the strength and weaknesses of Ravana the enemy.
Anna has proved to be the Jamvant of our nation. He has reminded people of their inherent and latent strength and awakened them. The nation is indebted to you for being the “Jamvant” of Indian public. Anna, my sincere and respectful salutations to thee.
